NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF FRASER HEIGHTS<\/p>\n
We, as the Fraser Heights Community Association (FHCA) executive, have recently received a number of enquiries and concerns about our community. Accordingly, we have contacted the City and School Board, and have listed the issues and the responses below. They are in no particular order, just a list.<\/p>\n
We also encourage every resident to report concerns directly to the City at my.surrey.ca <\/p>\n
1)\tCrosswalks & intersections on 104 Ave, namely 164 St & Fraserglen Drive
\na.\tThe City plans to upgrade and widen 104 Ave between 160 St to 168 St in the next 2-5 years. This will address the concerns referenced above. <\/p>\n
2)\tPaving 160 St & 108 Ave intersection & 110 Ave between 156 St & 157 St
\na.\tThe City will flag the intersection with engineering for short term patch repair. The long-term solution is for the street to be repaved.
\nb.\t110 Ave \u2014 this requires a capital repaving approval at a future date. The FHCA will be following up further on this matter. <\/p>\n
3)\tTraffic lights not changing on 156 St under highway 1
\na.\tThese lights are the responsibility of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI). The sensors may have been affected by the recent paving. The FHCA will be following up further on this matter.<\/p>\n
4)\tBus stops built in East Fraser Heights, but with no added transit
\na.\tThe City is responsible for building the bus stops. This was done in preparation for the extra transit route which was planned for Fraser Heights. These plans were put on hold during the pandemic. Efforts are now being made to restart this project. <\/p>\n
5)\tWhat is the structure partially constructed behind Erma Stephenson School
\na.\tThis structure will be for daycare. It is being built by School District 36. It is intended to be completed by the end of 2023.<\/p>\n
