Surrey Quest Adventure Challenge
Do you enjoy watching Amazing Race or Survivor? Ever laugh out loud at Wipe Out? Well, Surrey Quest Adventure Challenge is the event for you. We're looking for high energy people to volunteer with us as teams of 4 complete a series of wacky, agility testing, brain teasing, and physically demanding challenges around the South Surrey Athletic Park.
We need challenge volunteers from 8 am to 2:30 pm who will guide participants through a challenge - even participating with them at some points - and award points when participants complete them. Challenge volunteers will be able to watch teams as they race against the clock to complete these challenges. Challenges are outside so dress warmly and in layers. A light lunch and snacks are provided.
Event date: Saturday, January 30th.
Location: South Surrey Athletic Park
Go to your www.myvolunteerpage.com account and login to My Activities to sign up as a Challenge volunteer today for Surrey Quest - An Adventure Challenge for Right to Play!
If you don't see the event listed in your volunteer account please send me an email and I will add you to the City-wide Events group and sign you up for this shift.
We're looking forward to your participation!

156 St Underpass Opening
Posted by FHCA_Executive on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 (23:31:25) (114 reads)
156 St Underpass Opening - May 1st

Note, the opening of the underpass will have a significant impact on Fraser Heights. Residents who travel back and forth to Guildford will benefit of course but residents living in close proximity to the underpass will be faced with increased traffic and the problems that come with it. Over the past year the FHCA has worked closely with affected residents and the City to try to ensure that residents' concerns were addressed.
At the last FHCA general meeting, with representatives of City Engineering and the RCMP in attendance, it was agreed that since there wasn't an effective means of tracking all safety incidents that aren't reported to the police, that the onus would be on residents to monitor and track crime and safety incidents that are directly attributable to the opening of the new underpass. To that end it is suggested that residents report such incidents to the FHCA through the feedback link on this website. Of course RCMP and the City of Surrey should also be notified when appropriate but the FHCA is interested in ALL incidents so that a complete picture can be provided to the city in the future.
